MAPAL receives state funding for digital project

Digitalisation offers great potential for environmentally friendly and sustainable production. This is the starting point for a new research project initiated by MAPAL and launched in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation in Stuttgart and the companies Karl Walter Formen- und Kokillenbau and Blum-Novotest, a manufacturer of measuring and testing technology. The state government of Baden-Württemberg is supporting the project as part of the Invest BW funding programme. MAPAL will receive funds totalling 575,000 euros.

Intelligent data and life cycle management

The core of the project is the detailed analysis of data from the areas of process, production, quality, planning and maintenance. The participating partners want to use the knowledge gained to develop new methods and products in order to minimise the use of energy and resources in machining processes. 

MAPAL has always supported its customers in their manufacturing tasks and works with them to develop efficient machining strategies in the field of machining. This has resulted in a deep understanding of processes, which flows into new digital processes and enables intelligent data and life cycle management of precision tools, among other things. The company is thus opening up new market areas. MAPAL conducts research in various areas and, under the leadership of its digital subsidiary c-Com, is working on innovative solutions that also utilise artificial intelligence.
