Completion of apprenticeship and presentation of certificates at MAPAL Group
39 apprentices and three DHBW students from the MAPAL Group received their certificates this year. Four trainees from Aalen are also among the best in East Wuerttemberg, and two trainees from Pforzheim are among the best in the Northern Black Forest region.
For 14 cutting machine operators, two mechatronics technicians, three metal technology specialists, two industrial clerks, one materials tester, two IT specialists and three DHBW students (one each from the mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and business informatics courses), the graduation ceremony at the MAPAL site in Aalen provided the opportunity to receive their certificates in person from Dr. Jochen Kress. In addition to the certificate, each apprentice was presented with a gift voucher that can be redeemed in many online stores. And even though not all of the graduates were able to attend the ceremony, Dr. Kress still had many words of praise for the skilled workers and students who had completed their training.
“Their start was undoubtedly more difficult than for other cohorts,” he said. The start of their training and studies had fallen in the middle of the coronavirus period, and many of the trainees' typical activities could only take place to a limited extent or not at all. Many things that MAPAL trainees would normally be able to experience together have been denied to this year group. “They started out in a crazy world - and I honestly don't know if it's really any better now than it was then.”
On the other hand, the trainees should also be aware of the knowledge and skills they have acquired through their training. “You have created a value for yourself that no one can take away from you,” says Dr. Kress. Everyone has also been able to find out for themselves what they enjoy doing, what comes easily to them and what is more difficult. As a company, MAPAL is proud that many of the trainees remain loyal to MAPAL. “Keep an open mind and stay curious,” said the CEO.
Sebastian Henke, Head of Human Resources at MAPAL, encouraged the young graduates to stay on the ball and continue their training in the future. “Hang on to the master school, go to university. But stay loyal to us at MAPAL,” he said to the graduates.

15 apprenticeships completed at other German MAPAL locations
Several young people also completed their apprenticeships at other German MAPAL locations in 2024. In Pforzheim, nine apprentices passed their final exams as industrial mechanics in the field of precision toolmaking this year: Elias Bastian, Kerim Derici, Philipp Grabowski, Nikolaos Kaloudakis, Martin Nehring, Remy Khang Hy Pham, Tim Pietsch, Nicholas Sandner and Louis Schlecht. Nikolaos Kaloudakis and Martin Nehring were also honored at the IHK Nordschwarzwald's award ceremony for their excellent examination results.
In Ehrenfriedersdorf, two apprentices, Louis Frenzel and Nick Lorenz, completed their vocational qualifications as cutting machine operators specializing in milling machine systems this year. Florian Bauß has also successfully completed his apprenticeship as a precision tool mechanic in Meiningen.
The MAPAL site in Winterlingen believes in training the best specialists in-house, which is why Jan Aude, Tristan Männel and Marvin Schilling, all successfully trained specialists, are now in permanent employment in Winterlingen. While Jan and Tristan completed their apprenticeships as precision tool mechanics, Marvin is now a graduate industrial mechanic.
