Digitisation at MAPAL
Moritz Mäurer gives an insight into the daily business of a Master Data Manager
He’s on board as early as when the first sketches are drawn up according to DIN structures and he’s still there when the companies receive operational support. Moritz Mäurer takes a holistic approach to product development.
“We have the opportunity to communicate with all colleagues and centres of competence worldwide and in this way define the guidelines and the product structure”, says Moritz Mäurer, describing both the appeal and responsibility of his job. Moritz has true MAPAL blood coursing through his veins. He even completed his apprenticeship at the Aalen headquarters and then worked in manufacturing for several years until he decided to further his education to become a technician for machine technology. Now he’s been with the company for over ten years and currently works in Master Data Management. His core tasks include, in particular, variant configuration in the operational sheet. This is a sub-area of master data management, which is becoming increasingly important. The overriding aim is to achieve a high level of data quality for operationally relevant objects that are required for ongoing processing.
