MAPAL donates €3,000 to the Kocherladen
The generous contribution will go toward purchasing groceries
With a generous donation, MAPAL Dr. Kress SE & Co. KG supported the Tafelladen in Aalen. The €3,000 provided will go directly toward purchasing groceries.
In view of the significantly increased food prices in recent months, the donation from MAPAL is a great help, according to Kocherladen Chairman Thomas Hiesinger, in covering the demand for fresh and packaged goods at least temporarily.
Currently, more than 1,300 food cards are in circulation, and the team of the Aalen food bank supplies around 2,500 people in need with everyday essentials. “The number of people we support has been rising for years,” says project manager Gerhard Vietz. In addition to refugees, many elderly people also rely on the food bank’s services, especially to buy food at reduced prices.
Given the several hundred people in need every day, the Kocherladen regularly reaches its limits – demand is so high that many food items quickly run out. This year’s MAPAL donation of €3,000 is therefore intended specifically for purchasing food.
