As in the past, MAPAL Dr. Kress KG recently made a donation in kind to the “Help for Togo” association in Schwäbisch Gmünd.

In addition to two large lathes and drilling machines with extensive accessories, this includes many other tools including workbenches.

Kai Meier and Reiner Kunz from the “Help for Togo” association made the way to Aalen to collect the donation. Thanks to the excellent coordination and active support of several MAPAL employees, the loading went smoothly and quickly. The two association members praised the efficient cooperation on site. “This support is invaluable for our project,” emphasized Reiner Kunz. Special thanks go to MAPAL President Dr. Jochen Kress as well as Training Manager Uwe Heßler and other employees involved.

Machines for a new training center in Togo

The donated machines and tools have a specific goal: the first construction phase of a new training center is to begin in the city of Kara in north-eastern Togo in 2025. This center will offer young people the opportunity to learn various trades - including car mechanics, welders, electricians, machinists, tailors and carpenters.

“Reliable machines and good tools are essential for solid training,” explains Kai Meier. “They not only ensure the necessary safety, but also help to make the work fun and increase the trainees' motivation.”

Creating long-term prospects for young people

With the support of companies like MAPAL, the association hopes to create long-term prospects for young people in Togo and contribute to regional development.
