Dr Jochen Kress presented the company figures for the 2023 financial year, his forecast for 2024 and the focus topics of the current year.

In the coming year, MAPAL will focus on its expertise in aluminium machining. Matthias Winter, Global Head of Segment Management, explained why, in addition to a comprehensive product portfolio, a deep understanding of the material and its alloys, the customer industries and the individual components are crucial for successful processes. With clever engineering, MAPAL utilises this expertise to implement reliable and economical machining processes for and with its customers. The strategy of offering solutions based on the market and the components was presented by component managers Michael Kucher, Igor Ivankovic and Tobias Stolz for the areas of electromobility, chassis & brakes and pneumatics.

The innovations and solutions that MAPAL is launching at AMB 2024 were presented by Product Managers Michael Villwock and Dr Wolfgang Baumann. The focus was on a new connection for replaceable head milling systems, which far surpasses existing systems, particularly in terms of handling and cooling.

The utilisation of all data generated during machining enables companies to increase their productivity by up to ten percent. Stephan Köstler, Global Head of Machines and Services, presented this result of the large-scale research project PRODaaS as well as an outlook on the potential uses of the business model developed in the project.

Live machining and an exhibition of the tools and solutions presented throughout the day as well as in-depth discussions on the topics with the colleagues from R&D and product management successfully rounded off the MAPAL press conference in the R&D centre.
