Anwendertreff Zerspanung Aerospace

Würzburg/Germany, Vogel Convention Center (VCC),
Max-Planck-Straße 7/9

Organised by MM Zerspanung and MM MaschinenMarkt, Anwendertreff Zerspanung – Aerospace brings together specialists and decision-makers from manufacturing companies, machine tool and cutting tool manufacturers, and research institutions. The event focuses on current challenges and practical manufacturing strategies for the aerospace industry. Participants will gain insights into technological developments and have the opportunity to exchange ideas on improving productivity and process reliability.

Technical presentation: Mastering complexity, maximising performance – Cost-effective machining of aerospace structural components
12:30 | MAPAL and bavius

How can large, thin-walled aluminium structural components for the aerospace industry be machined cost-effectively and with reliable processes? MAPAL and bavius will address this question in a joint technical presentation.

Using a realistic rear spar demonstrator made of aluminium 7075, the experts will demonstrate how the combination of high-performance machine technology, specially designed cutting tools and optimised machining strategies can increase productivity. The presentation will focus on actual process data and the key factors influencing machining time, surface quality and heat input into the component.

Participants will gain practical insights into the high-volume machining of complex aerospace structural components and learn how an integrated approach to process design can unlock potential for more efficient manufacturing.

Speakers:
Jens Ilg, Business Development Aerospace & Composites, MAPAL Dr. Kress SE & Co. KG
