Precision tool makers produce precision tools of all kinds for manual and machine use. You’ll also grind indexable inserts and maintain a wide variety of cutting and grinding machines. During your apprenticeship, you’ll learn to read technical drawings and to work systematically according to detailed work instructions. Here you’ll check and record the quality of your finished products.

Industrial mechanics are mainly tasked with the maintenance and control of machine tools up to complex manufacturing systems. In this role, you’ll contribute to the smooth manufacturing process and quality assurance. Over a maximum of 3.5 years, you’ll learn the basics of metalworking, how to control machining machines as well as the manufacturing and assembly of components and tools. Measuring, testing and maintaining components is just as much a part of your training as creating and applying technical documentation.

As a metal technology specialist (m/f/d) specialising in machining technology, you’ll work on conventional machines or CNC machining centres. You’ll monitor the manufacturing process here as well as the quality of your products. You’ll maintain and care for the machines used.

Mechatronics engineers can build complex systems from mechanical, electrical and electronic parts that are controlled by software.
