61 Mitarbeiter spenden Blut für eine gute Sache

Von der JAV organisierte Blutspendeaktion bei MAPAL wieder ein voller Erfolg

Zum dritten Mal haben die Jugend- und Auszubildendenvertretung (JAV) der MAPAL Dr. Kress SE & Co. KG und der DRK-Blutspendedienst gemeinsam eine Blutspendeaktion am Standort Aalen organisiert. 61 Mitarbeiter folgten dem Aufruf – darunter vier Neuspender.

    Um sicherzustellen, dass ein Spender an diesem Tag auch tatsächlich Blut spenden darf, muss der Hämoglobin-Wert im Blut bestimmt werden. Dazu ist ein Pieks in die Fingerkuppe nötig, um von dort eine geringe Menge Blut für den Test abzunehmen. ©MAPAL

The JAV was very pleased with the response to the event in Hall 9. “We are grateful for every single donation and for the many positive reactions from the workforce.” The campaign has fortunately found broad support within the company, as it offers an uncomplicated way to engage in social responsibility. “Nevertheless, we would be happy to welcome even more voluntary blood donors at future events.”

The DRK Blood Donation Service also rated the event as a success. Fluctuating participant numbers are completely normal at company campaigns, says Clara Feykes, Advisor for Donor Relations. “For example, due to holiday periods, waves of illness, or home office days.” The fact that over 60 people still took part highlights the strong willingness to donate among the MAPAL staff. The DRK team also praised the excellent cooperation with the JAV and the reliable organization on site.

Why blood donations are so important

For medical care in Germany, around 15,000 blood donations are needed every day. According to the DRK, a single donation can produce up to three blood products that may be vital for patients after accidents, surgeries, or with severe illnesses. Each donation therefore makes an immediate contribution to supply security.
The donor is now lying down, ready for the blood donation – always under the supervision of the DRK staff.

Another blood donation campaign planned

The Youth and Trainee Council intends to continue offering and developing the blood donation campaign together with the DRK on a regular basis at the Aalen site – sending a clear signal of lived social responsibility at MAPAL.
