YOUR TASKS:
- Clean and Prepare tools for braze, braze tips per MAPAL Inc. cutting tool product specifications
- Prepare PCD inserts, carbide bodies, or steel tool bodies for brazing, ensuring proper alignment and positioning of PCD segments prior to brazing
- Apply appropriate fluxes, filler materials, and heating methods based on tool specifications
- Grind tips to proper dimensions as required
- Clean tools after braze. Must ensure all tooling is inspected for proper manufacturing to blueprint specifications and MAPAL Inc. standard
- Produce product in accordance with job router, print and capacity in the most efficient manner
- Implement and inspect equipment maintenance according to maintenance schedule
- Ensure work area and equipment are maintained, organized and clean to Mapal standards
- Exceed and exhibit all Mapal Inc. behaviors as defined by policy, procedure and standards
- Actively participates in all cross-functional team projects and assignments as directed by Manufacturing Director
- Tasks as assigned to qualification standard
YOUR PROFILE:
- Previous machining/machine shop experience
- 0-2 years brazing and/or soldering experience preferably within the cutting tool industry (3-5 years desired experience, preferably with PCD).
- Proficiency in reading and understanding Engineering drawings and instructions
- Detail oriented and skilled in understanding troubleshooting, process workflow
- Positive, ‘Can do’ attitude and approach
