Great interest shown in MAPAL's annual press conference

Fiscal year 2024, forecast for 2025, innovations and solutions as well as different presentations on segments and customer productivity were key topics

The annual press conference held on Thursday, July 3, at the company headquarters in Aalen attracted considerable interest. A total of 24 journalists from trade media across the DACH region as well as the local press were in attendance when Dr. Jochen Kress opened the event. In his introductory speech, he acknowledged the ongoing challenging times while also expressing optimism for the future as MAPAL Dr. Kress SE & Co. KG celebrates its 75th anniversary.
Dr. Jochen Kress presented the company’s financial figures for the 2024 fiscal year and offered a cautious outlook for the current 2025 fiscal year. He also outlined the key focus areas for the year and announced investments totaling 25 million euros across the entire group.

Der weitere Tenor des Geschäftsberichts 2024-2025: Die MAPAL Gruppe richtet sich   konsequent auf die Zukunft aus: mit Investitionen in neue Technologien, die Digitalisierung und in den gezielten Aufbau von Fähigkeiten. Damit stärkt das Unternehmen seine Position in wichtigen Schlüsselbranchen und nimmt nachhaltig Geschwindigkeit in Richtung Markt und Kunde auf.

Zeugnis der stetigen Weiterentwicklungen und Innovationen war im Anschluss der Vortrag von Tobias Stolz, Component Manager General Machining bei MAPAL. Stolz präsentierte dabei diverse Erfolgsgeschichten aus den Fokusmarktsegmenten, die alle das gleiche Ziel haben: die Produktivität beim Kunden zu steigern. Hierfür werden bei MAPAL Standardprozesse für die industrielle Fertigung bestimmter Bauteile entwickelt und die Werkzeuglösungen je nach Anforderung modifiziert.

Die Steigerung der Produktivität bei Kunden stand auch im Mittelpunkt des Vortrags von Stephan Köstler, Global Head of Machines and Services. Produktneuheiten haben bei MAPAL immer schon das Ziel, Kunden in ihrer Produktivität weiterzuentwickeln und zu unterstützen. Beim Umfang der Serviceleistungen geht MAPAL nun noch einen Schritt weiter und bietet komplette Turnkey-Lösungen für die Prozessauslegung bis zur Erreichung der Prozessfähigkeit an.

André Ranke, Regional Sales Manager, presented a production-ready solution for the complete machining of a stator housing for e-mobility. This was developed in collaboration with the Chemnitz-based machine tool manufacturer NILES-SIMMONS. Suppliers and OEMs are now using this solution to efficiently produce components for the drives of battery-electric and hybrid vehicles from major automotive manufacturers.


Dr. Dirk Sellmer, Head of Research and Development, introduced the innovations and solutions MAPAL will showcase at EMO 2025 in Hannover this September. Highlights include the third generation of the OptiMill-Uni-HPC solid carbide milling cutter, new developments in the HPR400 reaming system, a new option for the UNIQ hydraulic expansion technology, and the premiere of a new setting device for large fine boring tools.

Live machining demonstrations and an exhibition of the presented tools and solutions provided opportunities for in-depth discussions with colleagues from R&D, product, and segment management. To round off the day, journalists had the chance to try their hand at building a so-called “Klapsmühle” (a traditional wooden toy) under the guidance of MAPAL’s apprentices at the training center.
