YOUR TASKS:

 

  • Order Review & Release

Review orders before releasing, ensuring that the order is evaluated before release in regard to capacity, capability, material availability

  • Detail Scheduling

Review and maintain with production, work center schedules ensuring:

Capacity constraints (bottlenecks) are observed and updated

Weekly production plans are balanced with capacity

Using capability matrix decide to make or buy

  • Delivery Service

Attend daily production meetings to ensure production plan is executed

Work with production on remedies that may affect 1st conformation date

Liaising with customer service any changes to 1st conformation date

Manage expedite orders into plan

Work with production, procurement and sales to implement actions to improve delivery reliability.

  • Data Maintenance

Maintain & continually update static data in SAP to ensure accurate information is available to make key decisions

Item master data, lead times, machine utilization, queue days, shift and holiday patterns

Product structures, set up and run times, subcontract steps

  • Industrial Engineering

Review and investigate variances of actual cycle times vs standard, material yield. This will enable correct data to be maintained with SAP ensuring accurate costing and scheduling.

  • Exceeds and exhibit all MAPAL Inc behaviors as defined by policy, procedure and standards
  • Ensure written flow charts, work instructions and/or standards for each position responsibility is consistent and accurate. Update, refine and adjust as needed or required
  • Actively participates in all cross-functional team projects and assignments as directed by Plant Manager
  • Additional responsibilities as needs present

 

YOUR PROFILE:

  • 2–4-year degree, desired (Technical and/or Vocation degree- Metal machining/Apprenticeship/Drafting/Engineering) and/or equivalent experience
  • Above average technical knowledge; Exceptional Active listening; Knowledge of problem-solving methodology such as 5-why logic tree.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office: SAP and Lotus Notes.  Working knowledge of software programs and computers
  • Production planning experience within Make to Order/specials products operation
  • Ability to think and operate at both strategic and tactical levels; Building strong, proactive relationships
  • 2-4 years’ experience with the cutting tool industry working with and/or preparing production schedules in relation to process times (5-8 years’ experience in manufacturing and processing for tooling industry, desired)
  • Demonstrated experience in production scheduling/processing; quotation preparation
  • Strong work ethic; self-motivated; independent and capable to make decisions.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • High energy level with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer focused; ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
