New milling tools for maximum efficiency in series production
MAPAL offers new solutions for semi-finishing and finishing operations with NeoMill-16-Finish and NeoMill-16-Face
MAPAL is expanding the NeoMill milling cutter product range in the areas of semi-finishing and finishing of steel and cast-iron materials as well as roughing of aluminium components.
Pünktlich zur EMO 2025 in Hannover hatte MAPAL das NeoMill-Fräsprogramm um drei neue Baureihen erweitert, die gezielt auf die Anforderungen der Serienfertigung zugeschnitten sind: NeoMill-16-Finish, NeoMill-16-Face und NeoMill-Alu-Rough. Alle drei Fräserbaureihen stehen für hohe Wirtschaftlichkeit und Prozesssicherheit sowie nachhaltige Fertigung – und fügen sich somit nahtlos in das bestehende Portfolio ein.
NeoMill-16-Finish: Planfräser für die Schlichtbearbeitung auf neuem Niveau
Für hohe Anforderungen an Oberflächengüte und Maßhaltigkeit in der Schlichtbearbeitung wurde der NeoMill-16-Finish entwickelt. Mit der Kombination aus 16-schneidiger Vorbearbeitungsschneide (ONMU05) und achtschneidiger Wendeschneidplatte zum Schlichten (OFGW07) bietet MAPAL nun ein einzigartiges und absolut prozesssicheres System an. Die Planfräser sind in Standardabmessungen im Durchmesserbereich von 63 bis 200 mm verfügbar und ermöglichen eine einfache Justierung der Schlichtschneiden. So sind Oberflächenqualitäten bis zu Rz 4 µm erreichbar.
NeoMill-16-Face: Effizienz in der Vorbearbeitung beim Planfräsen
Für die Vorbearbeitung ergänzt der NeoMill-16-Face das Portfolio. Auch hier steht die Wirtschaftlichkeit im Fokus: Die ONMU05-Platte mit 16 Schneidkanten sorgt für geringe Kosten pro Bauteil und eine stabile Bearbeitung. Die Werkzeuge sind in Durchmessern von 32 bis 125 mm erhältlich und eignen sich besonders für die Serienfertigung von Guss- und Stahlbauteilen mit geringen Aufmaßen (bis 2 mm).
NeoMill-Alu-Rough: Flexibility for aluminium machining
With the shoulder milling cutter and shell end face milling cutter NeoMill-Alu-Rough, MAPAL offers an innovative solution for roughing cast aluminium components in the automotive, aerospace and mechanical engineering industries. In the standard range, milling cutters with a single row of inserts are available at diameters from 50 to 160 mm. The NeoMill-Alu-Rough is available with multiple rows of inserts as a shell end face milling cutter with diameters of 63, 80 and 100 mm. Customer-specific tool solutions can also be configured. The combination of large chip spaces, tangential indexable inserts and a wide selection of cutting materials (PCD, coated or uncoated carbide, CVD diamond) ensure reliable chip removal and high stability – even with large chip volumes.
With the NeoMill programme, MAPAL has successfully served the milling tool market for series production for many years. With the newly developed NeoMill-16-Finish, NeoMill-16-Face and NeoMill-Alu-Rough series, the tool specialist is emphasising its expertise in the semi-finishing and finishing of steel and cast-iron materials and the roughing of aluminium.
The technology addresses the requirements of modern machining processes and is cost-effective, technically refined and easy to integrate.
