Our History

The first subsidiary in the USA was established in New Jersey, in 1977 for manufacturing and repairing high precision padded reamers. 

Over the following years, with the expansion in the automotive sector, from this hub the business grew, and it became clear that a small operation would not be enough. The next step was manufacturing near the automotive customer base in Detroit.  In 1995, MAPAL opened the production facility in Port Huron to focus on repair of PCD tooling, giving the customers a faster response time and close technical support.   

With the expertise of the global Centers of Competence, the manufacturing knowledge and capabilities have grown. In 2013 - 35 years later - MAPAL created its second plant, this time in the south of the country - Fountain Inn, South Carolina, providing additional capacity for sales, service and manufacturing, and a new test center for the aerospace.
