Over a period of six hours, many regular blood donors among the MAPAL employees took advantage of this opportunity, as did colleagues who had only donated their red blood to a good cause a few times before.

A number of first-time donors were also among those willing to donate - and of course some trainees (minimum requirements include an age of 18 years and a weight of at least 50 kilograms) did not miss the opportunity to give almost 500 milliliters of their valuable blood for the community.
According to the German Red Cross Blood Donor Service, up to three blood preparations can be made from one blood donation.

In Germany alone, 15,000 blood donations are needed every day for medical care - which underlines in particular how important each individual donation is.

MAPAL once again made it easy for its employees to take part in the blood donation day, as the event could be easily integrated into the working day. In general, commitment to social issues and good social interaction are a formative part of MAPAL's corporate culture.

The employer is all the more proud of the fact that these values are lived by the younger employees, with the members of the JAV showing enormous commitment in organizing the blood donation campaign. Together with the DRK, they ensured that everything ran smoothly on the day itself.

Incidentally, there were no waiting times, as every donor had been able to choose a preferred date in advance. After registering and answering the list of questions required for the blood donation, they went on to the preliminary examination and finally to a short check-up appointment with the doctor.

Only then were the blood donors “tapped” while lying on the donor beds - and within a few minutes the blood donation was already over. Before the donors could enjoy a hot meal, coffee and drinks, they first had to take a short break. After all, if you lose half a liter of blood within a few minutes, your circulation can get a little out of control. But experienced blood donors know this anyway, as they act according to the motto: Do good, donate blood, save lives!
